Summer is off to a joyful and meaningful start at Missouri Girls Town. With school out and sunshine filling the days, our girls are embracing every opportunity to learn, grow, connect and simply enjoy being kids.

One of the highlights of the season so far was a special volunteer day with Special Olympics Missouri in Hermann. Several of our girls spent the day cheering on athletes, offering encouragement and lending helping hands wherever they were needed. The experience was not only rewarding, but also a powerful reminder of the value of compassion, inclusion and community support. Opportunities like these help our girls build confidence, empathy and a deeper understanding of the positive impact they can have on others.

Back on campus, summer officially kicked off with a fun-filled “School’s Out for Summer” celebration. The girls enjoyed building their own ice cream sundaes, sharing laughs and celebrating the start of a season filled with new memories and experiences.

Throughout the summer months, our campus will continue to be filled with outdoor activities, recreation, group games and moments of connection. Outings to places like the St. Louis Zoo, craft stores or just a movie are extremely popular. Whether they’re participating in organized activities or simply enjoying time together, these experiences provide valuable opportunities for growth, healing, friendship and joy.

At Missouri Girls Town, summer is about more than just fun — it’s about creating positive experiences, building confidence and helping every girl feel supported, encouraged and hopeful for the future.

We’re grateful for the community members, volunteers and supporters who help make these meaningful experiences possible, and we look forward to all the adventures still to come this summer.
