A Safe Place to Heal: Help Us Reach Our 2025 Goal for Missouri Girls Town
For girls in crisis across Missouri, hope can often feel out of reach. Many arrive at Missouri Girls Town after prolonged trauma, as well as an average of nine previously failed foster placements. These girls come to us carrying the weight of unimaginable experiences, leaving deep emotional scars. But here at Missouri Girls Town, we offer more than just a place to stay – we offer a chance to heal, to grow and to reclaim their futures.
Anoela Martin’s journey is a powerful example of the hope we offer at Missouri Girls Town. Removed from her parents’ care at age 11 due to neglect, Anoela arrived at our campus after eight failed placements–unsure if she would ever find a place to really heal. With an introduction to healthy routines and therapeutic services, Anoela was able to transform her life. Today she raises two children with her husband, pursues a career, and offers her family the stability she never had growing up. Anoela says that one open bed “saved her life”– and it can save many others.
However, healing isn’t easy. It takes time, extensive care and the right support from the right people. The cost to provide specialized, residential care for each child is $370 per day. While the state covers part of this cost, it’s only a fraction of what is truly needed. The rest – the crucial difference between surviving and thriving – relies on the generosity of compassionate people like you.
Our 2025 Annual Giving Fund goal is $400,000. This isn’t just a monetary target; it’s a call to action. It’s about giving girls like Anoela a chance to heal. It’s about making sure our staff has the training and resources to help each girl confront and overcome the trauma they’ve faced. It’s about ensuring our campus remains a place of safety and hope. And most importantly, it’s about expanding our outreach to more young girls desperately seeking refuge.
Hope, healing and a future filled with possibilities should never have a price tag. But right now, we need your support to ensure every girl who walks through our doors has the chance to break free from the trauma of their past and build a better future for themselves and generations to come. Please consider the role you have in helping us reach our $400,000 goal. Your gift today will be the beacon of hope that transforms a life.
