Veterans United Foundation Supports Boone County Children and Families

Veterans United recently provided $3,000.00 of start-up funding for respite services that will benefit Boone County families. Our respite program will provide a safe place for children combining a positive and rewarding respite experience based on the youth’s individualized interests, needs and goals. Children and families will benefit from having a safe haven to send their children instead of resorting to negative behaviors. The program will be sustained through approved funding from the Boone County Children’s Tax Fund. Woods United Methodist Church Provides Dresses for Prom Boutique

We are gearing up for another exciting prom and as everyone knows, it all starts with the perfect dress! This is the second year our young women have been the recipients of dresses from Woods Chapel Church Prom Boutique in Lee’s Summit. This year, eight of our young women were able to go to the Woods Chapel Church Prom Boutique in Lee’s Summit to pick out not only their dress, but jewelry, shoes and a purse. Veterans United Foundation and Ameren are Helping Girls Get Fit

Veterans United Foundation donated $10,000 and Ameren donated $800 to a recreation center weight room which will benefit at-risk young women who find themselves at Missouri Girls Town. Jenny Preiss, Director of Recreation, is working to incorporate individualized workout plans into every young woman’s treatment plan which will utilize the new recreation center weight room. Individualized workout plans include an initial assessment comprised of weight and measurements, identifying barriers and setting goals, followed by physical assessments. Director of PR for The Callaway Bank Invests in Young Women at Girls Town

The young women of Missouri Girls Town Foundation were recently visited by Debbie LaRue, Director of Public Relations for The Callaway Bank. Ms. LaRue asked the girls five very important questions about their goals for the future and then spoke to them about how they can be successful in reaching them.
