Missouri Girls Town Awarded a Grant for Equipment Assistance

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education(DESE), Food and Nutrition Services received an appropriation of $538,253 for equipment assistance to eligible Local Education Agencies participating in the National School Lunch Program.  We are proud to announce that Missouri Girls Town Foundation and Wirts Dinning Hall has been awarded $21,934.25 for purchasing a new Walk-in Freezer/Refrigerator combination unit.  We look forward to expanding our fresh food choices, expanding our storage capacity, decreasing our energy usage, and increasing ease of access.  We are grateful and thankful to be chosen to receive this grant from DESE for a Walk-in Freezer/Refrigerator unit. Veterans United Foundation Supports Boone County Children and Families

Veterans United recently provided $3,000.00 of start-up funding for respite services that will benefit Boone County families. Our respite program will provide a safe place for children combining a positive and rewarding respite experience based on the youth’s individualized interests, needs and goals. Children and families will benefit from having a safe haven to send their children instead of resorting to negative behaviors. The program will be sustained through approved funding from the Boone County Children’s Tax Fund.
