Missouri Girls Town has concentrated on providing care and treatment for abused and neglected girls since the very beginning.
Child sexual abuse is likely the most prevalent health problem children face with the most serious array of consequences (MO Kids Count). One in every four girls is sexually abused before their 18th birthday.
The reason is simple, by remaining focused, Missouri Girls Town has been able to build a program of parenting and counseling that fits the needs of teenage girls. As the only girls* only residential treatment facility in the state of Missouri, we continue to focus our programming around the unique needs of the youth in our care.
While several youth residents identify as transgender or nonbinary, Missouri Girls Town continues to only serve female clients. One way we respect our clients is by using their preferred name, pronouns, and other forms of gender expression and identity.
